All There Is To Know About Bed Bugs: Causes And Prevention

Bed bugs are the small, reddish brown parasitic insects which bite the exposed part of the skin of sleeping humans and animals to feed on their blood. They are not the ones to spread a disease but they can cause other harms to public health and also some economic issues. A bedbug pest control company would be the best to hire if you have been infested by these.

They hide in the cracks and cervices of beds, box springs, headboards, bed frames and other objects around the bed. You might encounter bed bugs if you spend time in places which get different kind of guests such as hotels, hospitals or homeless shelters.

Bed bug bites can be difficult to distinguish from other insect bites and rashes. It might be a bedbug bite if you experience symptoms like:

- Red spot

- Itching

- The spots are arranged in a cluster or a rough line

- They are located on the arms, neck , hand or arms

While some people might not have any reaction to bed bug bites, others might experience an allergic reaction which includes severe itching, blister or hives. It is recommended to visit a doctor if you experience any of the above.

Bed bugs can be caused by insecticide resistance, changes in pest control practices or even increased international travel. Besides hiding in the cracks and cervices of where you sleep, they can also be found under peeling paint or loose wallpaper, under the carpeting near baseboards, in upholstered furniture seams and even under light switch plates or electrical outlets. They do not care if their hiding place is clean or dirty, all they need is a warm host and plenty of hiding places.

You can prevent the bed bugs from biting you by covering yourself properly at night and then sleeping. You can also spray bug spray in your room especially around your bed before sleeping or you can even sleep under a mosquito netting impregnated with pesticide permethrin to get rid of them.
